On Big Buddha Beach visitors will also find a nice selection of budget-friendly and medium priced lodging establishments. The past five years, several first-class accommodation venues have been constructed here and the area has begun to draw more diverse tourist crowds than the traditional budget-minded traveller. Spending time on Big Buddha beach is especially favoured for visitors who wish to stay within a short distance of Chaweng’s nightlife, which can be reached within a 15-minute drive, but also wish to enjoy the more peaceful daytimes here to fully unwind with privacy.

For the more active traveller, this destination offers several water-based activities such as scuba diving, snorkelling and water-skiing. Positioned along the main road are several dive shops that organise trips as well.  If just relaxing is what you’re looking for, then the calm waters will invite you for a swim and the beach is a great spot to chill.

The nightlife on Big Buddha Beach is quite enjoyable, with several booming bars which mostly serve drinks at less expensive prices compared with Koh Samui’s busier tourist spots. Castle and Brahms & Liszt and Elephant & Castle are two good British style pubs. From 5pm each Sunday, one of the most pleasurable evenings can be experienced at the Secret Garden Bungalows where holidaymakers will find cheap beverages, a fine barbecue along with some good live music. For about 13 years this venue has been attracting local expatriates and groups of tourists.

In addition, Big Buddha Beach provides Koh Samui’s most ideal place to take a ferry across to Koh Pha Ngan’s Had Rin Beach, for an exciting full moon party experience. Big Buddha offers also the most ideal holiday destination for visitors who want some of the country’s revitalising island relaxation while good nightlife options are within close range, but not direct at their door steps.
