Samui Shooting Range
Posted by Full mooner on August 26th, 2011 filed in activitiesFor those with shooting experience or novices who have never fired a gun in their lives the Samui Shooting Range provides an excellent few hours of exciting entertainment. The government licensed range gives patrons the chance of firing revolvers, pistols, marksman’s rifles and even semi-automatic weapons. Live bullets are used in the target practice, but instructors are on hand to ensure that no mishaps occur.
Shooting range instructions and rules are posted up on the walls and people utilising the facilities need to make sure they are well versed in the correct procedures. Shooters don ear defenders before taking aim at the mounted paper targets. The supervisory staff at the range are mostly fully trained professionals who can give beginners shooting lessons if required.
The last time that I visited, prices began at about 300 baht per session for pistol shooting, but increased accordingly with the amount of bullets and heavier firearms. Samui Shooting Range is open every day from 09:00 to 18:00 and is located between the resort of Chaweng and Bo Phut on the east coast of the island.
